A TEENAGE motorist caught driving at 108mph was banned from the road for three months by Ely magistrates.

"Our job is to protect other people who use the road, to protect them from people like you," Thomas Williams was told by magistrates'chairman Hamish Ross.

Williams, 19, of Southview, Newmarket, admitted driving at 108.94 mph along the A14 at Chippenham on December 10 last year.

"I was in a hurry to get to Bury. I was supposed to be going out with some people," the teenager explained.

Williams was fined £170 with £35 costs.
