When Tom, a nursery nurse from kidsunlimited day nursery on Ely Business Park, dressed up as a superhero to raise awareness for a charity, little did he know how painful it would be!
In aid of the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children, Tom raised £290 and described his challenge as “a slightly painful experience but it has been fantastic to raise money for such a great cause and I had lots of support from the staff and the children.”
As part of their Superhero Day, the children and staff also took part in many fun activities and games, including a treasure hunt and ‘name the bear’. The nursery’s families also came along to celebrate too and enjoy a coffee morning and cake sale.
Jessica Knowles, nursery manager at kidsunlimited Ely, said: “The Superhero Day was the best fundraiser we have ever held and thanks to the sheer enthusiasm of our children and the generosity of our staff and families.
“We are delighted to have raised money for our Foundation for Children; a charity close to our hearts which aims to support families and children in crisis, living in temporary accommodation, or fleeing from domestic violence.”
