MORE than �2,000 was raised for Papworth Hospital at this year’s Heartbeat event in Ely.
Organiser Pat Canham has held the event every year since 1991, raising a grand total of �50,000 for good causes.
This year’s event took place at St Mary’s Church, with more than 100 people enjoying an afternoon of coffee, cakes, prize draws and bric a brac stalls.
The mayor of Ely Will Burton, was also a guest at the event.
Mrs Canham, who holds the event in memory of her late husband Eddie, said: “I want to say a big thankyou to everyone who helped to organise and manage the event, their help is so important and very much appreciated.”
