POLICE are urging farmers to ensure machinery is left in a secure area following a fuel theft in Wilburton.
Thieves siphoned 800 litres of red diesel from a combine harvester which had been left in a field off Station Road between 9pm on Tuesday (July 19) and 7.30am the following day.
Inspector Robin Sissons said: “I would urge people to be vigilant and to ensure vehicles are parked somewhere safe and, where possible, not leave the fuel tank full overnight.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 0345 456 456 4 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
