THIEVES broke into an aviary and stole up to 15 Budgies and their chicks in a raid on a house in Ely.
The theft occurred between 6.30pm and 8.40pm on Tuesday evening at a house in New Barn Avenue, Ely. Thieves broke into the garden and removed several padlocks from the aviary before stealing a number of the birds and their young chicks.
PCSO Emily Hamilton said: "This is obviously very upsetting for the owners and I would urge anyone with information about this crime to contact me.
"I am particularly interested I speaking to anyone who thinks they may know where the budgies are."
