Thieves broke into a locked container at Sutton Cricket Club and stole a Ride on Gang Mower – worth thousands of pounds.

The Ransome 213D was taken from the cricket ground on Station Road, Sutton.

Craig Faux, from the club, said: “We are not sure of the exact date it was stolen but it was between November 30 and December 12 - we think it was more than likely the first week.

“If anybody has seen or saw anything suspicious down the field or nearby please could you call me on 07931 235 587.”

The break-in comes just a month after a similar theft from Chatteris Town Youth Football Club where thieves broke into a storage unit and stole a lawnmower worth £3,000.
