A THIEF who stole from Ely shops two years ago to get money for drugs was sentenced this week, after handing himself in to police.
Lewis Seymour, 25, admitted stealing £50 of cologne from Lloyds in Ely on February 16, 2004, and £89.99 worth of electrical items from Boots on May 13, 2004.
Seymour, of St John's Road, March, also admitted causing criminal damage to two parked cars in Ely on July 3 last year.
Solicitor Michael Judkins told Ely magistrates that his client had a drug habit for two years but is now free of his addiction.
He had damaged the cars in High Barns at Ely when he had been drinking.
He had visited his family and left in a bad mood, kicking cars parked near the property.
Seymour was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 compensation for damage to each of the car owners.
He must also pay £50 compensation to Lloyds, £89.99 to Boots, and £118 costs.
