A string of shoplifting incidents at Sainsbury's in Lisle Lane, Ely, have led to calls for the store to improve their CCTV and security measures.

Computer games worth hundreds of pounds were stolen on November 30 and police have since released CCTV images of two men and a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the incident which happened at 1.50pm.

It follows another shoplifting incident at the same store on November 14 when alcohol and computer games worth more than £700 were stolen.

The two incidents are not thought to be connected.

One person said: “Not again, Sainsbury’s get your act together. This is absolutely ridiculous. Get some security and upgrade your cameras while you’re at it.”

Another agreed, writing: “How many times will they allow dishonest people to get away with stealing so easily.

“They need to be more vigilant. Store detectives dressed as shoppers may be better than relying on CCTV.”

In May this year £200 was stolen and later that month 12 bottles of champagne worth more than £500 were taken.

In April £370 worth of electrical equipment, toiletries and alcohol were stolen from the same store.

Anyone with information about the first incident should call police on 101 quoting crime file number 0665571117.
