MEMBERS of the Ely Theatregoers Club enjoyed a rare treat at their regular monthly meeting last Monday evening. Lady Jill Freud, guest speaker, gave a most entertaining talk about her life and career in the theatre, and of how Southwold and Aldeburgh theatre seasons came into being 23 years ago. Her anecdotes about the hard work, and the fun involved, were both amusing and informative. She also spoke of the continuing support that Ely Theatregoers, and other like-minded people have given the company from the early days - so important in achieving the success they now enjoy.
The evening ended with wine and snacks, provided by the committee.
