A Littleport man who suffered a heart attack at the Grunty Fen Recycling Centre has returned to thank the staff who saved his life.

Workers at the tip rushed to David Law's aid as he collapsed while delivering rubbish to the site.

Manager Sid Coles, and his staff, carried out resuscitation until paramedics arrived to take Mr Law to hospital.

Their quick actions have been praised by police officers, paramedics and Mr Law's family.

Mr Coles said: "We were really pleased to see Mr Law and we were just glad we could help and that he could enjoy Christmas with his family.

"We just did what we have been trained to do and it really was nothing heroic. We have health and safety procedures in place to guarantee the safety of Cambridgeshire residents when they are on site. These include first-aid training which, in this case, was vital."
