A MARATHON 72-hour Bible-reading session started at St Andrew's Church, Soham, on Sunday.
More than 120 volunteers are taking part to help swell their £300,000 appeal to move the church organ and provide a new toilet and kitchenette.
Each of the volunteers will read from the Bible for 10 minutes each from 9am-9pm every day until Saturday.
The Bishop of Ely, the Rt Rev Anthony Russell, officially launched the event, and anyone interested in taking part is invited to go along to the church to sign up.
The Rev Tim Alban Jones said: "We've had a great turnout and they have not all been church people.
