A LITTLEPORT teenager who claimed to be confused by paper-work has been punished for driving without insurance.

Gemma South, 19, of Upton Place, Littleport, admitted to Ely magistrates that she drove without insurance on May 5, but claimed it was an honest mistake.

She said: "I really didn't know that I didn't have insurance, I didn't check the documents properly."

South, who earns between £55 and £80 per week, was given six points on her licence, fined £80, and made to pay £30 costs.
