A teenage motorcyclist has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after police clocked them travelling at 120mph on the A47.

The 19-year-old was stopped on the A47 at Terrington St John on Wednesday after officers caught the rider going more than 120mph.

Following the stop the rider tested positive for drugs during a road side test and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

The stop was part of a week-long police campaign, which runs until Sunday, targeting speeding drivers in Norfolk.

Earlier this week an 18-year-old was clocked doing 121mph on the A47 at King’s Lynn in a Ford Fiesta.

Other stops have included a minibus on the A11 at Wymondham, which was clocked travelling at 91mph with six people onboard, a Ford Mondeo on the A47 doing 124mph and a three vehicles travelling at more than 90mph on the A47 between Gorleston and Lowestoft.

Motorists caught speeding are issued with a TOR (Traffic Offence Report) and face a fine, points on their licence or even court action. Some drivers can opt to take part in a speed awareness course.
