A TEENAGE girl, who told a court that she saw people making monkey impressions towards her as they delivered racial abuse, was awarded �100 compensation by Ely magistrates this week.
Lorraine Turner, 33, of Welland Place, Wisbech, admitted using racially aggravated threatening or insulting words or behaviour on September 28 last year. She was ordered to pay the compensation, and was given a two-year conditional discharge.
Co-defendant Daniel Nunn, 23, of Hempfield Place, Littleport, admitting using threatening or insulting words or behaviour during the same incident, and is due to be sentenced on April 16.
A 15-year-old boy was convicted of racially aggravated threatening behaviour following at trial at the city courthouse, and is due to be sentenced at Cambridge Youth Court.
