Teenage cyclist killed on A10

A 17-YEAR-OLD cyclist was knocked down and killed in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A 17-YEAR-OLD cyclist was knocked down and killed near Waterbeach in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Luke Shannon-Fowler, of Ditton Fields, Cambridge, was pushing his bike along the A10 just outside the village at about 2am when he was knocked down by a blue BMW.
According to the East of England Ambulance Service, 17-year-old Luke was rushed to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge but had suffered fatal abdominal, chest and facial injuries in the incident.
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said the road was closed while investigations were being carried and was reopened again at about 9am.
Officers said they had arrested a 20-year-old man from Waterbeach on suspicion of driving without due care and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
