A TEENAGE offender already serving a sentence in a Young Offenders Institution has decided to make a clean breast of things - and has admitted more than 200 further offences.

The 16-year-old appeared before Ely Youth Court on Thursday, when he admitted a burglary at S and G Car Sales in Sutton, stealing power tools and audio equipment in December 2004.

He also admitted two offences of theft, stealing audio equipment belonging to Graham Whitfield and Michael Collen in 2004.

The court heard him ask for 220 other similar offences to be taken into consideration.

"He is trying to clear the slate, his actions show a vast change in attitude," said solicitor Robert Milsom. "He wants to serve his sentence and come out and rehabilitate himself.

"Many of the offences were done with others, nearly all of whom were older than him. This is a young man who lost his way and associated with the wrong people, he is now determined to turn his back on all that."

The youngster was given a six month term of imprisonment, to run alongside his current sentence.
