TEENAGER Faye Szulc, who disrupted train services for five hours after threatening to jump from a bridge over the river at Ely, is to undergo assessment for alcohol treatment.

Szulc, 19, was due to be sentenced by Ely Magistrates after she admitted trespassing on the line and breaching an ASBO.

Thirteen trains were delayed by her actions which cost Network Rail more than £5,000.

But at an earlier hearing, magistrates had been told that Szulc was an alcoholic who had made several attempts at self-harming and suicide.

On Thursday, her solicitor Jacqui Baldwin told the court the probation service had arranged for Szulc, of Christopher Tye Close, Ely, to attend the assessment on October 30. Her case was adjourned until November 1 and Szulc was granted unconditional bail.
