A TEENAGER has been left distraught after a bike given to him by a soldier who served three tours in Iraq was callously stolen.

Aaron Peachey was given the unique BMX bike as a gift by a family friend who was serving as a paratrooper fighting in Iraq, and the teenager was out every day riding it.

The bike quickly became a prized possession for the 16-year-old but he was left heart-broken when it was taken from his house, in Millfield Place, Wilburton, in the early hours of Monday morning (June 18).

A second bike taken in the raid was quickly recovered by police but the BMX, which is matt black with orange pedals, has yet to be traced.

Aaron’s mum Georgina, said: “The bike was worth so much to my son, he was given it as a present by a soldier who had served three tours in Iraq and he idolised him.

“The police managed to recover the other bike that was stolen over the weekend but we really just want the BMX bike, it really is one of kind and means such a lot.

“He rode the bike every day and he was so upset when he realised it had been taken, we all were.”

The bike has the words Spartain Race emblazoned along the frame and as well as having orange pedals, it also has orange stunt pegs and a blue cog that sits with the chain.

Anyone with information about the bike is asked to contact Cambridgeshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
