Ely College students have been put through their paces this term by Team GB ski star Ellie Koyander, who visited the school in her role as an mentor for the Sky Sports Living For Sport Programme.
Ellie met with students during her two days at the school, and provided insights into the life of a professional skier, and the ups and downs of international competition.
Ellie first learnt to ski aged only 18-months-old, and was soon found to have a natural talent for the sport. She worked her way up the competition circuit until she was selected to join the Great Britain freestyle ski team at only 16-years-old.
She has since competed across Europe and North-America at World Cup, World Championship and Winter Olympic events.
Now 23, Ellie is training hard for the first World Cup Moguls Skiing event in early December, and then has a packed schedule right through to the next Winter Olympics, in Korea, in 2018.
She said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the brilliant students and teachers at Ely College. My two visits involved going through the six keys to success and putting them into practice with some fun team building games.
“It was great to see the students so enthused and engaged working together as a team to complete the tasks that I set and I look forward to hearing about their future achievements.”
