TALENTED Fordham couple Alison and Jacen Bruce - Alison is a best selling crime writer and Jacen is a musician - will join forces in Ely city centre on Saturday to host an event in neighbouring shops.

Alison - who has just been nominated for the prestigious Golden Dagger Award - will be in Burrows Bookshop, signing copies of her novels, while singer songwriter Jacen will be next door at Raven Music, performing songs from his album The Siren, which features songs inspired by Alison’s novel of the same name.

The joint event will take place between 12 and 2pm, giving customers the chance to enjoy a combination of musical talent and crime-writing genius, picking up signed copies of Jacen’s albums and Alison’s books.

Customers will also be given a special voucher which will entitle them to 15% off all purchases made in either Raven Music or Burrows Bookshop for one day only, on Saturday July 27.

Annabel Reddick, of Burrows Bookshop said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for us to join forces with Gary and Will at Raven Music to offer Ely shoppers a unique opportunity to enjoy a musical and literary event that will showcase the work of two outstanding local talents.

“It will be a real celebration for both shops, and a great chance for us to show off just what we have to offer in Ely High Street Passage.”
