DELEGATES from Littleport will be among those choosing a successor to Conservative MP Malcolm Moss in an American-style 'open primary'.
15 delegates from around North East Cambridgeshire will grill 20 of Mr Moss' prospective replacements in December.
Applicants from the Conservative party's A-list are invited to apply, but outstanding local candidates will also be considered, provided they register, said Conservative party association chairman Robert Sears.
Each candidate will make a public speech.
Mr Moss, who is MP for North East Cambridgeshire, announced he would step down last month. Selection will be made on January 19.
