Starting the day as he means to go on by serving up a hearty breakfast is the new manager of the Traveller’s Rest on the A10 at Chittering, near Ely.
Steve Shipp, 25, has taken over the reigns of the pub which opens at 8am for the breakfast menu and continues through the day with home cooked lunches and evening meals.
On hearing the pub was closing at Christmas, Steve who was already working at the pub, said he decided to take it on as a new business venture.
The venue is well known in the area for its Sunday carveries from noon to 4pm and it is a tradition that he intends to continue.
Specialist evenings being launched include a fish and chip night on Tuesdays, steak night on Thursdays and entertainment such as music or comedy on Fridays.
