SUTTON Youth Group gave a special performance of their new musical Teenage Explosion for two community groups in the village on Saturday.

The 22 young actors, singers and dancers performed their matinee show for the Triangle Club and Mepal Seniors, a tradition the club has kept alive for many years.

Chairman Danni Youngs said: “We really wanted to make sure this year we did a special show for the senior citizens. It always feels good to have them as an audience because young people don’t often get the chance to speak to them in everyday life.”

The show, based on the theme of teenage pregnancy, was put on with funding from Heritage Lottery funding and was developed with the help of a professional script writer and choreographers.

This year, all the stage management, lighting and sound was operated by the groups members, as was the filming of the show.
