Lucky members of the 1st Sutton Scouts Beaver Colony were officially invested as beaver scouts whilst joining Santa in his sleigh.

The man in red was delighted to hear how well the young people had begun their scouting journey, made great progress joining in and behaving as a good beaver scout should.

Santa’s sleigh was visiting Sutton for vital repairs ahead of its busy schedule in December touring Sutton and surrounding villages in what is becoming an annual event to raise vital funds for the new scout hut.

Beaver leader Penny Hamlyn said: “The young people found the evening magical, and it’ll be a memory to last a lifetime - like the scouting skills the young people are beginning to acquire.”

She added: “I’m sure all the beavers will continue to do their best to stay on Santa’s good list.”
