A zip wire, swings and climbing rope are among the new equipment being built at a children’s play area in Sutton thanks to a £57,241 grant.
The money, awarded by Waste Recycling Environmental Ltd.’s (WREN) FCC Community Action Fund, will be used to buy the additional play equipment for the Stirling Way play area.
The improvements include resurfacing the fenced in area of the park with a rubber bonded mulch and placing a two-metre roundabout within the boundary.
Outside of the fenced area there will be some new equipment which includes a zip wire, swings and a climbing rope unit.
Cllr Mark Inskip, chairman of Sutton Parish Council, said: “The project will provide a big improvement to village facilities.
“It’s fantastic that WREN has awarded us the money and we are really looking forward to the enhanced play area taking shape over the next few months.”
WREN is a not for profit business that awards grants for community, biodiversity and heritage projects from funds donated by FCC Environmental through the Landfill Communities Fund.
