WORKING parties were poorly attended during the summer months, due to holidays. The next working party on Saturday is at 10am at the churchyard and needs lots of volunteers to clear the dead grasses and rubbish, so that the wild flowers and bulbs have a chance of growing next year. Some tools will be available but please bring rakes, loppers, shears, if possible.

We will finish the clearing of the old churchyard on November 11, Armistice Day. We hope all that attend the service at the War Memorial at 11am will come to see us during the morning and even help with the tidy-up.

Our talk by Cameron Hawke Smith, curator of Cambridge Folk Museum on Tuesday, September 19, was very well attended. We were treated to some lovely old tales of characters around Cambridgeshire area, and it was interesting to find out how the building has survived through many changes in the area.

Future Events: Tuesday, October 17, 8pm in the Pavilion - Lee Marshall, warden of WWT at Welney will talk about the reserve. We hope to visit there next year.

Tuesday November 21, 8pm in the Pavilion - AGM, after the short formal part of the meeting, Pat and Peter Hubbard will talk about Cyprus wildlife.
