RESIDENTS of Sutton are starting to feel the pressure as the day approaches when they will be scrutinised by judges in the final round of the Calor Village of the Year 10th Anniversary Awards.
Sutton was revealed as the winner for East England back in May, beating off competition from three other villages, all of which had been invited to enter this special one-off competition following previous Calor Village of the Year success. Sutton is now competing against six other area winners in order for one village to be crowned the 'best of the best' and for the £20,000 top prize.
Sutton will be visited by the Calor final judging team on Friday. Judges will spend no more than two hours in the village.
The overall winner will be announced at a presentation event taking place on September 19 at the Four Seasons Hotel in London.
