The Stretham Feast Parade was awash with superheroes when valuable funds were raised for a local hospice charity.

The annual event organised by Stretham Parish Council was in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and raised £585.92 which has been presented to the charity.

Parish clerk Rachel Watts said: “We are so pleased to be able to hand over the money donated by the people of Stretham to EACH to help continue the care for children with life threatening conditions and support for their families.”

The Feast Parade saw a range of floats, all with a superhero theme parade through the village. The floats were dress by many local organisations including the Scouts, Stretham Primary School and Tiddlywinks Pre-School.

Stretham Parish Council organise the annual Feast and raise money for a different charity each year.

Karen Newton, EACH Cambridgeshire Fundraiser, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to the Stretham Parish Council of choosing to support EACH through their annual Feast Parade. It sounds like it was a fantastic day.

“All the funds raised will go towards the vital work that EACH does caring for children and young people with life threatening conditions and supporting their families across Cambridgeshire.”
