The story of the nativity will come to life in Ely this Christmas.

The Living Nativity will come to Cross Green on Friday November 25 as part of the city’s Christmas lights switch on, featuring dozens of residents in festive outfits parading through the city.

Johanna Partridge, Secretary for Churches together in Ely, said: “We have quite a tale to tell about the camels coming all the way from Warwickshire and the donkey from the other side of Bury St Edmunds as there are no local donkeys around here belonging to the Actors Union.

“We have over twenty people dressed up and parading through the town and the wise men riding camels.”

Three local choirs will also help crowds get in the festive spirit with St John’s Primary School at 3.45pm, the Choristerd at 4.40pm and Sing Ely Choir at 5.40pm.
