CHILDREN at Stretham Community Primary School are stepping out to get fit.
As part of a healthy and active initiative, pupils have been encouraged to take more exercise by counting the number of steps they take each day.
Cambridge County Council has loaned out pedometers to enable each pupil and all members of staff to record their steps. Children are being encouraged to take the pedometers home and see if they can achieve more than 12,000 steps per day, which is the Government's recommendation for children. Friendly competition has broken out in the school to see who can do the most steps, with the staff joining in too.
