Stars shone at the regional charity premiere of the Golden Age on Sunday as Ely's great and good assembled in the Maltings for a screening of the second instalment in the Elizabethan saga, filmed partly in Ely Cathedral. The building was turned into a sumptuous version of Whitehall Palace by the Hollywood production team.

Guests were entertained by an auction from David Palmer and a stunning display from Ely-based fire jugglers Wildfire. Some guests even dressed as characters from the film.

The glitzy premiere, run by ADeC, with proceeds going to Sue Ryder Care was generously sponsored by numerous local businesses including Mark Haynes and the Atrium Club.

Caroline Cawley, marketing manager from ADeC said: "The event was a huge success and we would like to thank all our sponsors who made the event possible.
