HUNDREDS of 'get well' cards have been pouring into the Ely Standard office for brave cancer patient Joshua Hinchliffe.

Joshua, who is six, has received cards and presents from strangers all via the Ely Standard office. One well-wisher sent Joshua, who has cancer of the liver, abdomen, pelvis and stomach lining, a Land Rover sign. Joshua, who is a fan of quad biking, loves Land Rovers and all things mechanical.

Mum Janette, from Southery, told us she was really touched that people had gone to the trouble of sending cards and messages.

"He's getting popular!" she joked. "People are so nice - to have gone to the trouble to go out and buy cards or make them - Joshua is so pleased."

His cards will be strung up around his bedroom at home and provide a welcome distraction for Joshua who continues to visit Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge for regular chemotherapy.

INFO: If you would like to show your support for Joshua, send him a card c/o the Ely Standard, 38 Market Street, Ely CB7 4LS or post a message on our online message board at www.elystandard24.co.uk - you can reach it by clicking on Joshua's photo on the right hand side of the page.
