Staff at the Ely branch of Sainsbury’s have been putting their old Christmas decorations to good use this week.

The team at the Lisle Lane store have provided Littleport Community Primary School with a selection of colourful decorations which were hung over the store’s shop-floor throughout December.

Team members Luke Edwards and Stella Churchman visited the school, in Parsons Lane, to hand over the decorations - including Christmas trees, snowmen and presents – in person.

Store manager Karen Watts: said: “We’re delighted to donate these decorations to Littleport Community Primary School. We received great feedback from our customers on this year’s decorations and it’s great to ensure they’ve found a good home in the community”.

John Cattermole, head teacher of the school, added: “After our Christmas activities, we definitely needed some new decorations and these new ones look fantastic. I’d like to say a big thank-you to the team at Sainsbury’s Ely for this generous donation. We’ll certainly be putting them to good use!”
