On Sunday last, Holy Trinity joined us for a combined service of Mattins led by the Rev. Matthew Badbury who also gave the sermon and led the prayers. Richard Fenner and Jackie Kirby read the lessons and Jackie was our organist. In the evening St.Peter's joined with the combined churches from Haddenham and Wilburton for a Songs of Praise service in the Baptist Chapel, Wilburton. This was a joyful service. A representative from each church chose their favourite hymn with an explanation as to why it was chosen. The hymns were interspersed with readings and prayers. Baptist members kindly served us refreshments after the service.
Next Sunday at St. Peter's there will be a Prayer book Communion service at 8.00am, followed at 11.00am by All Age worship at 11.00am. Both services will be led by Rev. Matthew Bradbury. On Saturday, August 5 there will be the popular West End Bar-B-Q at 26 West End, Wilburton from 6.00pm until late. Tickets can be obtained from Jacqui, 740437, or Sue, 740579. All proceeds will go to the St.Peter's 21st Century Appeal. An occasion not to be missed.
