THE morning service at the parish communion was conducted by the Rev Pauline Scott with a visiting Methodist, Michael Jenkins, giving the address, and the Music Group accompanying the singing. After the service, the annual parochial and Easter vestry meeting was held, when the church year was reviewed and accounts adopted. The churchwardens were also elected, Peter Hampson and Roger Martin being elected for a further year.

In the evening, the Bishop of Ely presided over a confirmation and communion service, confirming candidates from Little Thetford, Haddenham, Chettisham and Little Downham. At the beginning of the service, the Bishop, was presented with the traditional gifts of salt, bread and wine. This custom dates back many centuries. The organist was Michael Harrison. Refreshments were served.
