THE Christmas Fair took place last Saturday in the church and light lunches were also served. A big thank you to all who supported this event. A total £790 was raised for church funds. The Rev Roger Steward led last Sunday morning's service, which was a giving service for Jimmy's Night Shelter in Cambridge.

Brenda Harrison, Simon Wynn, Simeon Wynn and Tony Murfitt read lessons and Janice Weatherall was the pianist. Tony Murfitt led the evening service, and Pat Hodson was the pianist. The Flower and Friendship Club met on Monday evening when members made a Christmas welcome door wreath. The Women's Fellowship met on Tuesday afternoon and the St John's Stitches got together in the evening. The third Christmas Tree Festival will take place this coming weekend and the theme is 'Christmas around the world'. The church will be open from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday and from 12.30pm to 5pm on Sunday.

There will be a Christmas stall on Saturday and refreshments will be served on both days. This coming Sunday morning's service will be led by the Rev Roger Steward at 10.45am, which will include singing from Millfield School Children's choir. The Rev Steward will also lead the Advent Service at 6.30pm. The alternative Christmas carol service will take place on December 16 and will be led by Duncan Palmer and New Life.
