ON Sunday, the Bishop of Ely, the Right Rev Anthony Russell, presided and preached at the 10am Parish Eucharist. The Sunday School children learned a little about bishops, and at the end of the service, paraded through the church wearing a selection of their handmade mitres. On Sunday, October 1, the vicar, the Rev Rosemary Maskell, will preside at the 10am Parish Eucharist, which will be the Harvest Festival. The sermon will be replaced by a presentation from the 10+ group. Harvest Songs of Praise is 6.30pm. All are welcome. The Fashion Show on September 22 was well supported and raised £130 in aid of the Restoration Fund. This event may well be repeated in the early part of 2007. On Monday, October 2, Harvest Supper will be held at St George's at 7.30pm.
The St George's Gift Day is on October 7 and will run from 10am until 5pm. The parish records will be available if anyone wishes to trace their ancestors. Refreshments will be served.
