SINCE the 250 Club was first started in 1991, the membership has contributed £32,473, of which £9,000 has been paid out in prize money and £23,121 put towards the cost of restoring the church. As the years pass, the cost of the restoration work increases due to the inflation and deterioration so membership of the 250 Club is even more important and appreciated. Last year we completed the final stage of the roof restoration, the total cost of which was £240,000 which meant borrowing considerable sums from other sources, one of which was the Cambridgeshire Historic Churches Trust, which now has to be repaid. The next major task to be undertaken is likely to be the exterior walls and the refitting of a number of the large stones at the base of some of the walls. Other projects are likely to include the nave and side aisle floors as well as the lighting.
