A SPONSORED walk held in memory of Witchford teenager Darryl Manchett, has raised hundreds of pounds for charity.
Organised by Darryl's sister Katie Farrington, more than 60 people braved the chilly temperatures on Monday (Dec 29) to embark on a five-mile walk around Witchford.
The group, which included Darryl's friends, family and neighbours, collected hundreds of pounds in sponsorship with all the money raised set to be donated to the PICU unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge where Darryl was cared for before he died.
The walk was held on December 29 to coincide with what would have been Darryl's 16th birthday, and the walkers finished up at a local pub to mark the special occasion.
The Cromwell Community College student died on July 26 last year after being knocked off his bike while out on a ride with friends in Wentworth.
