Children at Littleport Primary School enjoyed NSPCC’s Speak Out Stay Safe program and were inspired to raise £2,324.82 for the children’s charity.

Youngsters held a sponsored spelling challenge to raise the mammoth total.

Around 420 pupils in the school took part.

Deputy head, Nick Clark said: “The children were thrilled to have raised so much money for the NSPCC and were extremely excited to take part in the Spelling Challenge.

“The children in school really wanted to support the NSPCC and help vulnerable children all over the country - they responded brilliantly to the assembly and the year 5 and 6 children participated enthusiastically in the workshops provided by NSPCC volunteers.”
