A SOHAM Village College Pupil joined South East Cambridgeshire MP Jim Paice at the House of Commons last week as part of her work experience.

Gabrielle Letimier, 14, joined Mr Paice during meetings of the Shadow Defra team, prime minister's questions and the MP's daily duties.

Mr Paice said: "It is great having Gabrielle on board."

"I hope she enjoys her time with me and gains an insight into the life of an MP that doesn't put her off politics for life," he said, adding that work experience is an important part of the national curriculum.

Gabrielle said: "Shadowing Jim has proved to me that being an MP doesn't just consist of waltzing around Parliament furiously debating Britain's future - the effort and dedication required is immense.
