PEOPLE in Soham can find out how their ideas and thoughts will be taken forward to shape the town's future today (Thursday).

The Soham Vision Masterplan Working party will be hearing all the evidence which has pulled together following consultation events, public exhibitions and the online survey.

During the last week, more than 150 businesses and individuals attended a workshop meeting which talked through ideas and options which could form part of the final vision for the market town.

The public are welcomed and encouraged to come along to the meeting which will start at 4pm at the Viva Centre in Soham.

Councillor Derrick Beckett, chairman of the Soham Vision Masterplan Working Party, said: "Over the last month I think we have all sensed a real build up of momentum as we work to develop a future for Soham. I know when we started this process some felt the town was stuck in the doldrums but I think our work over the last few months have shown it is anything but.

"If anyone was in any doubt of Soham's potential they should have been at our various consultation events which have taken place. There were some fantastic ideas about how the town could look, where development should take place and most importantly how we can make sure our community spirit is able to thrive. Soham has massive potential and we want to see as many people as possible come along to support us as we begin the next stage of pulling all these great ideas together into a plan for the town's future."
