President Mrs Knight welcomed members to the meeting on Friday. The business part of the meeting was dealt with before the introduction of the speaker for the evening, John King. Members enjoyed a 'journey' through Canada and part of America via the beautiful colourful slides of John's holiday.
Gwen Bridgeman thanked him on behalf of the members. Sheila Knight organised the raffle and the committee served the refreshments. Audrey Rice auctioned the harvest goods assisted by Mrs Knight and Mrs Langley.
Proceeds to the WI funds. Thanks were extended to everyone for donating the items for the auction.
During the evening, hand-made cards, donated by Sheila Roach, were on display.
Winner of the competition for six small cakes, was Mrs Rice. The next meeting is on Friday, November 3 when there will be a flower arranging demonstration by the Rev Alan Ashton.
