A TEENAGER who kicked a football at Soham scout hut in an "orchestrated attempt at harassment" has admitted breaching the terms of his ASBO.

Fifteen-year-old Kieran Dunsmore was spotted kicking a ball at the hut on the recreation ground on two occasions, Ely Youth Court was told.

On April 21, the court heard that parents were concerned about the safety of some cubs because a group of youths - including Dunsmore - were kicking a ball at the hut, said prosecutor Mara Maciejowski.

"Various parents spoke to cub scout leader Peter Wells, they were fearful their children were not safe," she said, and the police were alerted. Later the same evening Mr Wells saw some youths at the hut, and told police: "I felt it was an orchestrated attempt at harassment."

The cub scout leader told police that Soham teenager Dunsmore and around six other youths had been involved in anti-social behaviour, and on May 19 he saw Dunsmore kicking a ball against the hut again, and politely asked him to play elsewhere.

"Dunsmore and two other youths continued to kick a ball against the hut," she said. The teenager then left the area, and returned with more youths.

"Mr Wells feels this has been orchestrated by Kieran Dunsmore," she said, "and he has made a formal complaint."

Dunsmore was given his anti-social behaviour order in December 2006, and one of the terms prevented him from "Engaging in any behaviour that causes harassment, alarm or distress to others; or is threatening, abusive or insulting to others, in Soham or Ely."

Solicitor Jeff Lewis said: "He accepts he is part of a group of young men who have kicked a ball against the scout hut. But he does not accept he is the ring leader of the group.

"It's a pity that a young man kicking a football breaches the rigor of the law in this way."

Sentencing was adjourned until September 11.
