Soham pupils enjoy the trip of a lifetime

A group of 40 pupils from Soham Village College returned this week from the trip of a lifetime to South Africa, where they put on a dramatic performance in a township.
The pupils, led by music teacher Stephen Kenna, visited Nynga, where they met with pupils for a partner school and put on a join performance featuring music, song and dance.
As part of their trip, the pupils enjoyed visits to Table Top Mountain, Robben Island – where Nelson Mandela was held – and Cape Point.
Mr Kenna said: “It was a fantastic trip and gave the pupils a totally different set of experiences to those they are used to at home.”
To mark their return, the pupils put on a second performance of the piece they worked on in South Africa to friends and family back at school in Soham.
