JEREMY Reader,the owner of JK Memorials in Soham, riased more than £400 for Guide Dogs for the Blind when he completed the Great North Run for the second time on Sunday.

Thirty-nine-year-old Mr Reader finished the half marathon course in 1hour 47 mins 52secs, placing him 7269 out of more than 50,000 competitiors.

Jeremey said: “The atmosphere was fantastic. if anyone is thinking of doing a half marathon, then the Great North Run is definitely the one to do.”

Not resting on his laurels, Mr Readerer is now in training for the Great Eastern Run in Peterborough on October 13.

“I train about three times a week, and with two London marathons already under my belt, I am now waiting to hear if I have been lucky in the public ballot for next year,” he said.
