ON Saturday, it was games of triples ladies versus the men playing 18 ends. The weather was a bit damp and the brollies came out a few times, but it didn't spoil the evening. The men won once again so the blue ribbons stay on the cup for yet another year. Captain Gerald Johnson thanked everyone for taking part. Captain Pat Bayes thanked the ladies for their support during her first season as captain. To show her appreciation, each of the ladies were presented with a box of chocolates and the men were given a chocolate bar. The ladies did win on one rink and were each presented with a plant. The men were also given a small gift. Once again, Ken and Joan cooked a delicious supper and as a token of appreciation were presented with a plant and a bottle of wine. Hazel King thanked Pat for all her hard work during the season on behalf of the ladies. The list is up on the board for members to enter names to play for the Richard Griggs trophy. This will be a pairs competition and takes place on Sunday at 1.30pm. The next social evening will be on November 4 raising money for a charity. Numbers are limited to 40.
