Pupils at Stretham Community Primary School have been having fun learning about the rainforest this week.
On Monday, Walter Morfitt, from Zoolab, came into the school to talk about the importance of the rainforest for the environment and the children learned about how some medicines for cancer and arthritis come from plants in it.
Mr Morfitt brought with him a selection of animals, whose species are native to the rainforest, including a scorpion, tarantula, land snail, millipede, stick insects and a corn snake.
Parent governor Rachel Law said: "Walter was enthusiastic and inspirational and the kids had a fantastic time.
"The kids were allowed to handle all the animals, except the scorpion and tarantula, for safety reasons, and had a great time looking and learning more about the importance of preserving the rainforest and things that they can do to make a difference."
