EXTRA IT taster sessions are being organised in libraries in East Cambridgeshire following growing demand from "silver surfers".

The original programme, funded by UK online and delivered by a partnership of the libraries, Age Concern and the Cambridge Housing Society, has already been extended once.

Now it is being further extended to cope with the demand from web users in their 50s.

The EngAGE sessions will be held at the Little Downham Book Café between 10am and 12 noon on October 12, 19, 26 and November 2 and 9; Soham Library between 10am and 1pm every Thursday from November 1 and December 6; Ely Library between 2pm and 5 pm on October 4, 11, 18, November 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and December 6; Parsons Drove Community Access Point either 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5 pm on January 14, 21, 28, 2008 and Littleport Library on October 2 from 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm, October 9 from 10am to 12 noon, October 16 from 10am to 12 noon or 2pm to 4pm and October 30 from 2pm to 4pm.

EngAGE Project Co-ordinator Maggie Brown, said: "We have been overwhelmed by the response from the public which has been just fantastic."
