What could be more inspiring than treating yourself to a writing day in the atmospheric 17th century oak-panelled meeting room at the Oliver Cromwell House in Ely?

Tutor and writer, Sue Burge, will be leading a creative writing day on Wednesday, September 2.

There will be plenty of stimulating exercises to cater for all levels of experience. The day will have a historical flavour.

Ms Burge has taught all over East Anglia and has run successful workshops at the Babylon Gallery in Ely but this is the first time she will have taught in such a historic venue.

“I visited the Oliver Cromwell House years ago and wrote one of my best poems as a result. I’ve always had it in the back of my mind as a potential day school venue,” she said.

Places are limited and all participants will be able to send the results of their writing to Ms Burge for further feedback. The day costs £35 and includes tea, coffee, biscuits and access to the museum. Ms Burge is regularly seen scribbling away in Peacock’s Cafe or in Ely’s Lady Chapel

To book a place, contact 01553-692798 or e-mail skburge@outlook.com. More details at www.sueburge.uk
